THE HISTORY OF THE RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION OF HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE SITES IN NAVOI REGION

Abstract

This article highlights the attitude towards cultural heritage sites in the Navoi region during the Soviet era. It discusses how mosques, madrasahs, and mausoleums-religious structures-suffered the most damage, being used as warehouses, shops, and even garbage dumps. Under the slogan of the struggle against religion, religious monuments were closed or repurposed for other uses.
