Abstract

Ecotourism has become an important strategy for achieving sustainable development in the modern tourism industry. It integrates environmental conservation, socio-economic development, and cultural preservation while minimizing negative environmental impacts. The objective of this study is to examine the role of ecotourism as an effective tool for sustainable development and analyze its environmental, economic, and social contributions. The research is based on qualitative analysis of scientific literature, international tourism frameworks, and sustainability principles. The findings indicate that ecotourism contributes significantly to biodiversity conservation, supports local economies, creates employment opportunities, and promotes environmental awareness. It also encourages responsible tourism practices and community participation in tourism development. Ecotourism provides financial support for conservation programs and helps protect natural ecosystems from degradation. Furthermore, it strengthens cultural identity and promotes sustainable resource management. The results show that ecotourism plays a key role in balancing tourism development with environmental protection and social well-being. The study concludes that ecotourism is an essential instrument for achieving long-term sustainable development goals at local, national, and global levels.
