THE IMPORTANCE OF ROLE-PLAY ACTIVITIES IN DEVELOPING SPEAKING ABILITY

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of role-play activities in developing students’ speaking ability in language learning. Speaking is considered one of the most challenging skills for learners because it requires confidence, fluency, and appropriate language use. The article explains how role-play creates realistic communication situations that allow students to practice speaking in meaningful contexts. It also highlights the benefits of role-play, including increased confidence, improved fluency, expanded vocabulary, and better social interaction skills. The paper concludes that role-play is an effective and practical teaching strategy that helps learners become more confident and competent speakers.
