Abstract
This article highlights the theoretical and methodological foundations of applying a competency-based approach in the primary education process. It analyzes the issues of forming key competencies in students, using interactive methods, integrating educational content with real-life situations, and increasing lesson effectiveness. It is scientifically substantiated that education organized on the basis of a competency-based approach contributes to the development of students’ independent thinking, problem-solving skills, and readiness for practical activities.
