Abstract

Objective: To evaluate morphological changes in the nephron and the dynamics of reparative processes during experimental cellular dehydration of varying degrees. Materials and Methods. The study was performed on 112 albino Wistar rats. The animals were divided into intact and dehydrated groups. Nephron structural changes and repair were assessed using histology and morphometry. Results. The extent of nephron damage depended on the severity of dehydration. Mild and moderate dehydration were accompanied by partial reversibility of changes; severe dehydration was associated with slow and incomplete repair. Conclusion. Cellular dehydration causes stage-dependent morphological disturbances of the nephron, and severe forms limit the reparative potential.
