Abstract

This article explores the theoretical and methodological foundations underlying the study of bilingual learner’s dictionaries within the framework of modern lexicography. The research aims to systematize key theoretical paradigms, including functional lexicography, user-oriented approaches, equivalence theory, and macro- and microstructural modeling. Methodologically, the study applies comparative, descriptive, and structural analysis to examine principles guiding the compilation and evaluation of bilingual learner’s dictionaries. The findings demonstrate that effective bilingual learner’s lexicography requires an integrated framework combining functional theory, pragmatic orientation, corpus-based evidence, and user needs analysis. The study concludes that future research should emphasize empirical dictionary use studies, digital lexicography, and cognitive-semantic modeling to enhance learner accessibility and communicative functionality.
