Abstract

In this article, based on the analysis of scientific and technical literature and patents, the issue of improving technical diagnostic methods for the bogie frame of the UZ-Y electric locomotive is highlighted. Analysis showed that four main approaches have been formed in the assessment of the supporting structures of locomotives and other railway vehicles: determination of the stress-strain state by the finite element method, taking into account the spectrum of operational loads, testing the model with bench and field tests, and assessing hazardous areas according to fatigue strength and residual resource criteria. Patent materials show the active development of practical solutions, such as structural reinforcement, strain gauging, non-destructive testing, and fatigue testing stands. At the same time, it was revealed that in the considered open sources, the issues of systematic identification of load zones for the UZ-Y electric locomotive bogie frame, mapping of hazardous sections, and the development of a comprehensive diagnostic methodology focused on these sections are insufficiently covered. Based on this, an integrated diagnostic approach for the UZ-Y electric locomotive, combining computational modeling, targeted strain gauging, and non-destructive testing, was substantiated as a promising direction.
