Abstract

The article dwells on transformation of proverbs and sayings in the English and Tajik languages due to the substitution of the components and their modification that does not lead to the change of the initial semantics. It should be also mentioned, that during the translation into Tajik the full-equivalent method of translation is used. The usage of full equivalent of the examples (given below) for the translation of the transformed phraseological unit is well-timed and expedient, as the transformation made with the help of substitution of the components stuff doesn’t change the basic semantics of the usual phraseological unit.
