Abstract

This article provides an extensive analysis of the role, potential, and impact of artificial intelligence in English language teaching for EFL students. With the rapid evolution of digital technologies, AI-based systems-including adaptive learning platforms, intelligent tutoring systems, and conversational chatbots-have transformed traditional teaching methods into dynamic, personalized, and student-centered learning experiences. The study combines literature review, classroom observations, and a sample experimental study to evaluate how AI improves students’ motivation, engagement, and linguistic proficiency. Findings demonstrate that AI significantly enhances speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while fostering learner autonomy, critical thinking, and collaborative learning. The article also addresses challenges, ethical concerns, accessibility issues, and practical implementation strategies for educators.
