Abstract
This article examines the transformation processes of the mahalla institution within the structure of a modern megapolis. It analyzes changes in the socio-economic and cultural functions of the mahalla in the context of urbanization, globalization, and modernization of urban space. Special attention is paid to the role of the mahalla as a traditional social institution that provides social support, community self-organization, and preservation of national values. The study also explores the integration of the mahalla into the modern urban structure, as well as the impact of digitalization and administrative reforms on its functioning.
