Abstract
This study presents a comparative linguacultural analysis of the concept of “family” in Uzbek and English contexts. Although both cultures view family as a key social institution, they differ in structure, communication patterns, and value systems. The research applies comparative and semantic analysis of proverbs, lexical units, and social practices. The findings reveal that Uzbek family discourse reflects collectivism, emphasizing interdependence and social responsibility, while English discourse highlights individualism, autonomy, and personal boundaries. The study contributes to cross-cultural pragmatics by demonstrating that shared terminology may carry different cultural meanings.
