THE ROLE AND IMPORTANCE OF GEOGRAPHY IN DEVELOPING ENVIRONMENTAL CULTURE
Abstract
This scientific thesis analyzes the role of geography in the formation and development of environmental culture from a scientific and pedagogical perspective. During the research, the importance of geographical education in shaping environmental thinking under the conditions of global environmental problems, the mechanisms for developing environmental competencies, and the effectiveness of innovative pedagogical technologies were studied. Furthermore, the role of using GIS technologies, multimedia tools, and interactive methods in teaching geography to develop environmental culture was highlighted. The research results demonstrated that geography is an essential tool for ensuring environmental safety, forming a responsible attitude toward nature, and instilling the principles of sustainable development into the minds of the younger generation.
