Abstract

This research analyses the economic nature and possible gains from introducing language courses in rural areas of Uzbekistan. This study stresses the interaction between education, political will, and economic growth by evaluating the impact of language courses on the employability and the economic stability of the rural communities. Using a mixed-methods approach, this study integrates quantitative data on employment rates and course enrolments with qualitative insights from interviews with course participants, education providers, and local government officials. Findings show that there is a strong link between the improvements in language educational programmes and the increase of employment in the rural areas, thus putting emphasis on the importance of government subsidy programmes and policies in the promotion of language education and work opportunities in the rural areas.
