Abstract

This work considers the issues of modernization of the technical fleet and introduction of modern and high-power equipment within the framework of the strategy for the development of mining enterprises in our country. It is emphasized that excavators are the main means of mechanizing rock extraction in open-pit mining. Also, various models of steel wire rope and hydraulic excavators and their technical indicators are analyzed. In the studies, metal consumption and energy efficiency relative to the bucket volume are considered as important indicators in assessing the technical level of excavators. As a result, scientific conclusions are presented on improving the design of mining excavators and increasing their efficiency.
