Аннотация

A study was made concerning the low-temperature (T = 4.2°K) plastic deformation of aluminum and copper in constant magnetic fields, outside a magnetic field, and in transient magnetic fields varying exponentially at various rates. It has been established that constant magnetic fields of intensity H0≤27kOe and transient magnetic fields varying at rates H⋅<3.4⋅105Oe/sec do not effect the plastic deformation of aluminum and copper. Transient magnetic fields varying at rates H⋅>3.4⋅105Oe/sec produce a jumpwise hardening as a result of Joule heat generated in specimens by eddy currents.
