Аннотация
The effect of a magnetic field on the plasticity of nickel in the magnetically ordered state is investigated at T = 4.2°K in contitions of creep. It is shown experimentally that switching off an additional magnetic field ΔH = 1 – 5 kOe leads to the softening of the ferromagnet and to the formation of a strain discontinuity δϵm. When the field ΔH is turned on, a sharp decrease in the rate of creep is observed. It is assumed that the observed feature in the low-temperature creep of nickel is due to variations in the interaction of moving dislocations with ferromagnons, the spectrum of which varies considerably with variation of the magnetic field.
