Аннотация

The structure of solid H2–D2 mixtures deposited from the gaseous phase is studied by the transmission electron-diffraction method in the concentration range 0–100 mole %. The experiments were carried out in the range from 2.3°K to the temperature of sublimation of the specimens, which usually occured at T≈ 5°K in the case of H2 and T≈ 7°K in the case of D2. It is established that with low-temperature condensation, solid films of pure components form an fcc structure which is metastable for the given temperature range and which has the parameters aH2=5.310±0.01Å and aD2=5.100±0.005Å. In the case of two-component condensates, a continuous series of solid solutions is observed to form. The reasons why there is no decomposition in the H2–D2 system are considered.
