Аннотация

Using the spin Hamiltonian we study the behavior of the principal axes of the susceptibility tensor in changing magnetic field and temperature in low-symmetry paramagnetics. It is shown that the principal axes of the ellipsoid may rotate. We study the influence of magnetic field, constant crystal field, and of the principal components of the g factor on the position and anisotropy of the susceptibility ellipsoid in wide ranges of temperatures and fields. Conditions are determined in which one should observe a strong dependence of position of the principal axes of the susceptibility tensor on the temperature and magnetic field.
