Energy spectrum of CsDy(MoO4)2 in vicinity of the structural phase transition
Аннотация
The magnetic susceptibility of CsDy(MoO4)2 and CsDy(MoO4)2 + 10% Eu3+ was measured in the temperature range 4—70 °K and the frequency range 200 Hz-20 MHz. The spin-lattice relaxation of the Dy3+ ion observed in this case is characterized by exponential temperature dependences of the relaxation time: τ−1 = A exp(—Δ/kT) with Δ = 105±20 cm−1 and 250±40 cm−1 for CsDy(MoO4)2 in the temperature ranges 10–20 and 20–38 °K, respectively, and Δ = 22.4± 5 cm for CsDy(MoO4)2 + 10% Eu3+. It is postulated that the energies Δ = 105±20 cm and 250±40 cm correspond to the first and second excited levels of Dy3+ in the low-temperature phase of CsDy(MoO4)2, while Δ = 22.4 ± 5 cm-1 corresponds to the first excited level of Dy3+ in the high-temperature phase of this compound.
