Effect of Abrikosov vortices on dislocation internal friction in Pb-ln single crystals
Аннотация
The dependence of the damping decrement δ and the modulus defect ΔM/M on the strain amplitude ε0 are studied on single crystals of alloys of lead with indium in the mixed state. For the alloy Pb + 3 at.% In the curves δ (log ε0) in the mixed state are found to shift towards higher values of ε0 with an increase in the magnetic field H. This indicates that the presence of Abrikosov vortices in the lattice causes variations in the effective value of the dislocation damping coefficient. For the alloy Pb + 12 at.% In the curves δ(log ε0) also shift towards high values of ε0 as H increases in the interval Hc1 <H < (Hc1 + Hc)/2 but shift in the opposite direction as H grows further. This nonmonotonic behavior of the shift indicates that Abrikosov vortices act as regions which restrict the motion of dislocations.
