Аннотация
We report a study of the EPR spectrum of the Jahn–Teller centers Cu2+ in ZnSiF6 · 6H2O using a frequency of 74 GHz. The spectrum observed may be described within a model of three geometrically inequivalent centers with a rhombic g-tensor: gz = 2.467 ±0.005; gy =2.11 ±0.01; gx = 2.10±0.01; and gy−gx = 0.0097 ±0.0005. The observed rhombicity of the g -tensor cannot be explained quantitatively by the static Jahn-Teller effect and the trigonal component of the crystal field of the crystal matrix, and requires extension of the theory to vibronic states in the case of strong Jahn–Teller coupling.
