Аннотация

We have used EPR measurements in a static magnetic field to determine the parameters of the spin Hamiltonian of the Co2+ ion in crystalline Cs3CoCl5 at 4.2 K: g∥ = 2.40±0.02; g⊥ = 2.31 ±0.01; D = − 4.30±0.05 cm−1. We have studied the influence of hydrostatic pressure on the magnitude of the initial splitting of the spin multiplet of the ground state of the Co2+ ion in its tetrahedral site. We observe a strong linear pressure dependence of the parameter D. We consider the relation between the function D(P) and the anisotropy of the compressibility of the crystal. We show that there is no magnetic ordering in Cs3CoCl5 at a pressure of 14 kbar down to a temperature of 2 K.
