Аннотация

Stable traveling domains with finite resistance [Gurevich and Mints, Pis’ma Zh. Eksp. Teor. Fiz. 31, No. 1, 52 (1980)] (resistive domains (RD)) can exist in homogeneous type-II superconductors in the presence of a transport current. In this paper, the possibility that these domains are stopped by inhomogeneities which they encounter as they move along the film sample is studied theoretically. To this end, an equation determining the velocity x˙0 of a RD (x0 is the position of the center of the domain) relative to the location of the inhomogeneity, characterized by an excess liberation of a small amount of heat at the moment the RD impinges against it, is obtained.
