Аннотация

We investigate the influence of correlation effects in a two-electron system on the electron binding energy and lifetime in a nonequilibrium pressing field E1<E1(0). Within the framework of the harmonic lattice model we determine the microstructure of the electric field above the two-dimensional electronic liquid and we find the correlation correction to the binding energy of surface electrons as a function of their concentration and the drop in the pressing field. This approach allowed the deformation effects in the electron system (compression of a correlation hole) to be taken into account sufficiently. It is shown that under real conditions this correlation correction can substantially exceed the electron binding energy in an ideal system. The theoretical results are compared with the available experimental data. We discuss how electron heating due to the drop in the field affects the electron lifetime in a two-dimensional electron system, in different states.
