Low-temperature dependences of heat capacity, magnetic susceptibility and EPR of a layered CsGd(MoO4)2 crystal are investigated. The structure of energy levels 4S7/2 of the ground state of Gd3+ in CsGd(MoO4)2 is determined. The magnetic contribution to heat capacity is isolated by taking into account the single-ion anisotropy in the vicinity of magnetic phase transition at Tc = 0.448 K. The exchange parameters J1 and J2 are estimated.
