Аннотация
The levitation method is used to investigate the dependence of the magnetic susceptibility on pressure up to 2 kbar in vanadium, palladium, and the alloy Pd0.95Rh0.05 at temperatures of 20.4 and 78 K. The obtained results, supplemented by the data obtained from other methods, indicate a strong temperature dependence of the magnetovolume effect in palladium and in the alloy, and an absence of such a dependence in vanadium. A comparison of the low-temperature data in pure metals with the theoretical results reveals considerable discrepancies whose origin is not clear at present.
