Аннотация

SYNOPSIS The usefulness of cambial electrical resistance readings, measured with a Shigometer, to indicate growth rates of indigenous forest trees, to detect trees with a reduced growth rate as a result of pathogen infection, and to compare tree vigour of indigenous and alien trees was tested. Although significant correlation coefficients between resistance readings and growth rates were obtained, standard deviations were too high to be useful for indigenous forest management purposes.
