Crystal chemistry features of HTS compounds

Charge carriers responsible for high-temperature superconductivity are characterized by a state “on the verge of localization.” The measure of localization is the lifetime of ion-carrier association, which is limited by the condition governing the motion of charge carriers with a Fermi velocity vF:h/2πEF = τp ≤ τ0 = a/vF.
