Kinetics of Chemical Reactions of Stressed Polymers

Abstract The effect of stress on the rate of chemical reactions is reviewed. It is shown that the sensitivity of the reaction rate to stress depends primarily on two factors; 1) the degree of change in the reactive site geometry, and 2) the energy content of the structural fragment affected by the reaction.
