Neutron diffraction study on rubidium zinc bromide under pressure
Аннотация
Abstract Neutron diffraction measurements of the modulated phases of Rb2ZnBr4 have been carried out under hydrostatic pressure. The established pressure-temperature phase diagram contains: (i) a ferroelectric commensurate phase with the modulation wave vector q = 1/3 which is stable at low pressures and temperatures, (ii) commensurate phases q = 2/7 and q = 1/4 stable at high pressure and (iii) a set of pseudo-commensurate phases characterized by the wave vectors from the interval q = 2/7—1/3 stable at lower pressures and higher temperatures. The pseudo-commensurate phases seem to be stablized by defects. Key Words: Commensurate phasesphase diagramrubidium zinc bromide
