The Electrochemical Characteristics of Nanocrystalline Mg2Ni Alloy
Аннотация
The electrochemical properties of nanocrystalline Mg2Ni prepared by mechanical alloying are measured by cyclic voltammety. The results indicate that the potential of oxidation peak shifts as the scan rate increases. The hydrogen absorption property of Mg2Ni prepared by mechanical alloying increased even at ambient temperature. The absorption and desorption rates of hydrogen in Mg2Ni alloy are remarkably accelerated with the rising temperature.Small angel X-ray scattering results indicate that the Mg2Ni powders prepared by high energy ball milling have 1~5nm and 5~10nm particle size distributions, which increase the acting sites of hydrogen absorbtion/desorption reation and decrease the diffusion path of hydrogen desorption. It induces the enhanced performance of nanocrystalline Mg2Ni powder.
