Laser Spectroscopy at On-Line Isotope Separators
Аннотация
Optical hyperfine structures and isotope shifts of radioactive atoms and ions can be measured at ISOL facilities with high precision and sensitivity using a variety of laser spectroscopic techniques. The analysis of these structures and shifts provides information on some of the most fundamental properties of nuclear ground states and isomeric states, namely the magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments, the nuclear spin, and the difference in the nuclear mean square charge radius between isotopes. The status of current experimental programmes at ISOL facilities will be reviewed. The techniques employed include in‐source, collinear‐beams, atom‐trap, and cooler‐buncher laser spectroscopy.
