Аннотация

Data on benzene adsorption are employed to determine the adsorption and deformation properties of dehydrated sodium and cobalt forms of montmorillonite. It is found that, at low pressures, the adsorption and deformation of the Co-montmorillonite dehydrated at 293 K are higher than those of the sodium form of the mineral. The increase in the relative deformation of this form of the mineral to 4% at low benzene pressures and further to 11.7% is in good agreement with variations in the heat of adsorption. The relative deformations of the monocationic forms of the mineral dehydrated at 423 K under the conditions of their saturation with benzene are ∼1.2%.
