Effects of Timing and Processing on Seed Germination of Tectona grandis

From March to June,Tectona grandis seed germination were carried out by two factor cross grouping design,processing with lime slurry,gibberellin,and water as the control. The result showed that April and May were the optimal sowing time,and unprocessed seed had higher germinating rate,while all the other treatments could not improve germination rate. Sowing in March,water soaking 3 days then gibberellin( 50 mg·L- 1) treatment could significantly speed up seed germination. Sowing in March and April,and treating with gibberellin 50 ~ 200 mg·L- 1could facilitate height growth,but leaf width growth might be restricted when gibberellin was up to 200 mg·L- 1.
