Sn dopants undergo restructuring into Ti sites of TiO<sub>2</sub> upon lithiation reaction. These Sn dopants attract Li to form local SnLi<sub>x</sub> alloys, which sufficiently increase the capacity of Sn-substituted TiO<sub>2</sub> as a negative electrode material.
