Аннотация

Diamond has a potential for dosimetry in advanced radiotherapy techniques, being a solid-state nearly tissue equivalent material, with the possibility to be grown in large diameter wafers by Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD). A large-area bidimensional dosimeter made of up to two detector-grade adjacent 2.5×2.5cm 2 polycrystalline Chemical Vapour Deposited (pCVD) diamond samples, each equipped with a 12×12 matrix of contacts and connected to a custom-made electronic read-out system, has been manufactured in view to achieve fast dynamics as well as spatial and time resolutions required in advanced radiotherapic techniques, such as Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT). The device has been used to extract a 2D map of a VMAT lung plan, showing promising performances.
