The results of complex study of three samples of polymeric reagents Polydium grades PDM-105 (115, 125) of the Japanese company MITSUBISHI CORPORATION on artificial and natural clay solutions of the Noyabrsk oil and gas region of Western Siberia are presented. Studies of similar effect on clay solutions by the reagent DMP-310 were also carried out. Data on the physical and chemical properties of the Japanese reagents are presented. The polymer reagents were added to drilling muds, both in dry form and in the form of aqueous solutions. Usually, at first, a sharp thickening of the solution was observed, which is subsequently followed by complete dilution. If the concentration of polymers exceeds 0.1% (on dry matter), the solutions are fully coagulated without subsequent dilution to homogeneity. Basic properties of the stirred solutions only changes slightly during processing, such that the structural, mechanical and rheological properties increase, while the filtration index decreases. The results of investigations on a Brookfield viscometer at different temperatures of fresh and mineralized polymer solutions are given. At low shear rates and increased temperatures, the polymer solutions practically maintain their rheological properties. The Polydium 105 brand polymer is characterized from the other brands (115, 125) by its more adequate filtration parameters in low-melting solutions. The maximum technologically acceptable concentration of the Japanese polymers in clay solutions is 0.05-0.07%. These polymers can also be used in the absorption of drilling mud or in fresh and mineralized polymer solutions - when drilling horizontal wells. It will be promising to use the studied Japanese polymers in the creation of viscoelastic mixtures.
