The article researched the advantages of strategic management of the education system and foreign experience in this direction. In particular, it is analyzed the organizational structure of the Ministries of education of the US, developed countries of Europe and Asia as well as CIS countries, the tasks of their departments or departments of strategic management. It gave proven recommendations on for the application of this experience in developing countries.
