The article is devoted to the consideration of scientific approaches to the definition of the concept and essence of the organizational and economic mechanism of investment activity in the field of tourism, the identification of features of this activity, as well as the justification of the list of indicators to assess its effectiveness. The development strategy of the tourism sector of Uzbekistan until 2030 is analyzed. Negative and positive trends, priority directions of tourism development in the republic are considered.
