Conditions for the development of students' information competence in the aspect of the development of distance learning in the humanities

This article analyzes the current issues of the use of new information and communication technologies in the teaching of humanities, in particular history in higher education. Due to the difficulties encountered with mastering the educational material in distance learning, there was a need to find new methods of teaching humanities in higher education using new information tools and methods. Special attention is paid to the methods of distance learning, their advantages are considered. The necessity of informatization of the higher education process in the formation of an information society is also justified.
