HAPPINESS АND LIFE SATISFACTION IN UZBEKISTAN

The concept of happiness has attracted the attention of economists in recent years. Happiness/life satisfaction is essential for producers to analyze how consumers are satisfied with their goods and services at the micro-level. Taken into account the level of happiness, governments might analyze the socio-economic situation in the country at the macro level. This study examines the economics of happiness and the factors of happiness in Uzbekistan. Ordered logit model is used to estimate factors influencing happiness/life satisfaction. The findings demonstrate that there is a positive effect of health and income on happiness/life satisfaction, whilst there is a negative effect of age on happiness/life satisfaction. The result reveals that there is a positive relationship between marriage and life satisfaction.
