Abstract: The article deals with the problem of algorithmic selection of teaching methods. The author reveals the concept of algorithmic prescription for the choice of teaching methods, presents its structure and essential characteristics. The concept of an algorithm originated in mathematics, it is also used in cybernetics and a number of other sciences, including psychology and pedagogy. The article emphasizes the need to manage the teacher's activities for the optimal choice of teaching methods for students and provides an example of algorithmic prescriptions for improving foreign language skills of dialogical speech.
