FORMATION AND EVOLUTION OF RATIONALIST IDEAS IN SOCIOLOGY

As is well known, although sociology has come a short way in its formation, in this process a\nvariety of methodological approaches has been formed. This article presents research data on the\nemergence of sociology as an independent social science based on positivist methodology, as well as\nthe gradual development of a rationalist theory. According to the essence and content of rationalistic\nideas, it is the conscious activity of people that constitutes the basis for the formation of social life.\nThe principle of rationalism serves as the spiritual foundation of the mechanism for the\nimplementation of social development. The article focuses on the genesis and evolution of\nrationalistic ideas from the point of view of sociology, from the stage of its formation to today's\nresearch. At the same time, the author turned his attention to the scientific heritage of the classicsthinkers:\nFerdinand Tönnis and Max Weber, as well as to the research of modern sociologists.\n
