Abstract. The bending of a prismatic shell, supported on the ends is considered in the article. It is assumed that the coefficient of elastic foundation reaction is a known function of coordinate , and the shell is under the effect of symmetrical load. To solve the problem, the V.Z.Vlasov variational method was applied. As a result of the studies conducted, it was concluded that even the first term of the series provides a sufficiently high accuracy of calculations: the difference between the first and third approximations for displacements does not exceed 1,97%, and for stresses, it does not exceed 7,8%.
