Аннотация

Annotation: British writer and journalist George Orwell’s literary and journalistic works can answer to the questions arising in the modern society today. The period of 1930's in literary history – a world choked everywhere with suffering, cruelty and exploitation is identified as the political decade. It was the decade of totalitarianism in Russia, Germany and Italy. George Orwell has very vividly presented the characteristics of his age. His works depict the social and political changes that took place, especially during the course of his literary journey between 1933 and 1953. His novels and essays are a powerful satire on the social and political hypocrisies. He was by nature a believer in the moral values of politics. Orwell described a whole era deeply and frankly in his writing. That is why the actuality of the research comprises not only literary and historical values of his works, but social significance.
