Аннотация

Abstract: Malnutrition increases morbidity and mortality and affects physical growth and development, some of these effects are the result of deficiencies in certain micronutrients. While public health efforts must focus on improving children's diets through breastfeeding and adequate complementary feeding, more action is needed to increase the intake of certain micronutrients. Food-based approaches are seen as a long-term strategy for improving nutrition, but supplementation should also be considered for certain micronutrients, whether for the general population or high-risk groups, or as an adjunct to treatment.
