The article analyzes the lexical characteristics of the language of information technology, including Internet communication. The analysis of approaches in the study of IT-related the language is carried out, a model for the development of this layer of the language is given, a general picture of the IT lexicon and its characteristics is provided. The article also discusses the features of using this vocabulary in the process of various types of Internet communication.
