THE ROLE OF ELECTRONEROMYOGRAPHY IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF PATIENTS WITH A BIRTH INJURY OF THE CERVICAL SPINE AND SPINAL CORD
Аннотация
Objective: To conduct a comparative analysis of the results of electroneuromyography in children with birth injuries of the cervical spine and spinal cord. Methods: We examined 44 children with birth injuries of the cervical spine and spinal cord aged from 1 month to 7 years, divided into two groups depending on the treatment methods: Group 1 - 25 children (60%) who received electrical stimulation along with traditional treatment and kinesio taping on the side of the lesion; 2nd subgroup - 19 (40%) children who received standard treatment. To control the effectiveness of treatment, all patients underwent electroneuromyography. To conduct a comparative analysis of the results of ENMG, 15 practically healthy children, who made up the control group, took part in the study. Results: Comparative analysis of the ENMG results revealed the presence of dynamics in the form of a positive shift in the M-response indicators in the 1st group, while in the 2nd group no significant changes in the M-response indicators were found. Conclusions. ENMG in case of birth injury of the cervical spinal cord and spine turned out to be highly informative in establishing the exact localization and extent of the affected area in order to determine the optimal tactics
