Аннотация

Abstract: Literary translation differs from other forms of translation by its complexity, the fact that the literary text has additional connotative meanings, the active use of artistic means of expression. In the literary text about the protagonists of the work, in particular, the appearance of the protagonists, their inner world, their character, leaving a sufficient impression on the reader increases the interest of readers in the work. Language units that describe the appearance of characters in a work of art have a special significance, they have a unique national-cultural character in each language. In literary translation, the problems of character portraiture are relevant, and this urgency is reflected in the adequate translation of various lexical units, syntactic units, phraseological units, as well as stylistic means describing the character portrait. In this article, the translation features of the above-mentioned language units depicting the character's portrait are considered on the basis of translation versions of A. Kadyri's novel "Bygone days" into English by Karol Ermakova, I. Tukhtasinov, Mark Riiz.
