TO THE HISTORY OF THE FIRST JOINT ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXPEDITION OF THE MUSEUM OF ORIENTAL CULTURES AND TURKOMSTARIS IN TERMEZ: A SYMBIOSIS OF SCIENTISTS

This article represents the history and historiography of the organization and activities of the first joint archaeological expedition of the Museum of Oriental Cultures and Turkomstaris to the settlement of Old Termez, carried out in 1926-1928. The significance of this archaeological expedition is that, firstly, within the ancient settlement of Old Termez there were laid the foundation for the systematic archaeological study of the cities of Central Asia, including Uzbekistan; secondly, it was a peculiar beginning to the study of the region’s art history.
